On June 16th, OC Science held its first STEM Night at Thomas House Family Shelter. As excited laughs filled the air, OC Science volunteers explained the science behind various hands-on activities. One student was amazed to find that he could make a paper clown balance with just paper clips, while another learned about buoyancy through aluminum foil boats. Soon after, students participated in workshops where they mixed slime and learned about the science behind elephant toothpaste. This was OC Science’s first event in the Garden Grove area, as OC Science strives to bring science activities to students around Orange County.
