This past Friday, June 8, ten University High students were honored at the school’s end-of-year excellence ceremony for earning a 36 on their ACT, a perfect score. A curriculum-based test, the ACT is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions. Most schools have around two to three perfect scores each year, so University High’s rare accomplishment speaks to this city’s focus on education and academic achievement. Out of these ten students, juniors James Liao, Andrew Ma, and Alex Zivkovic are active members and leaders of Orange County Math Circle.
